    Climbing centres, sports stadiums and parks galore; you won’t have to travel far to exercise in the University area. Arguably one of the best outdoor sports centres in the region, Palmer Park is set in acres of parkland. It is well equipped with an athletics stadium, Velodrome, gym, football pitch and children’s playground.

    For those who enjoy the great outdoors, we’d recommend visiting Harris Garden or Whiteknights Lake (there’s a great 2.5km trail open year-round). Just a couple of miles away; you can also enjoy the theatre, cinema, shopping and nightlife in Central Reading.

    The University area has a mix of independent and state schools, catering to children of all ages. There are two grammar schools, both with excellent reputations: Reading School and Kendrick School. Of course, this area is also home to the University of Reading.

    The University area is well connected with local buses offering services to Reading, Bracknell, Windsor and Slough. There is also a nearby train station in Earley, where you can get direct services to Central Reading and London Waterloo.
