What are the Reading property hotspots?

The recent easing of lockdown measures, coupled with the ongoing Stamp Duty Holiday and favourable 95% mortgage guarantee, has been driving demand for properties in Reading. With tens of thousands of online visitors to our website each month, take a look at just some of the areas and types of properties that are on the prospective purchaser hot list from the last month.

Woodley, Charvil & Hurst houses

We have seen high levels of interest in these popular semi-rural areas, thanks in part to the two new build developments and the number of stunning premium properties we currently have on the market. The villages to the east of Reading, which include Sonning-on-Thames and Playhatch, have always proved popular with buyers, due to the proximity to the countryside, desirable waterside living and the ability to access Reading and the M4 with ease.

Reading town centre apartments

Reading is a vibrant bustling town, especially out of lockdown and with the restrictions lifting, people are searching for an upgrade in the centre of town. Bonus points to apartments which have a balcony and highly desirable skyline view. Purchasers are interested in being near to the restaurants, shops and bars and are considering their future commute once offices open again.

Tilehurst & Calcot

Over the years we’ve found that properties within the Tilehurst area, known to be popular with families and commuters, boasts relatively affordable prices over other towns and villages close to Reading. It also has a good selection of schools, as well as its own train station. There have been several new developments within the Tilehurst and Calcot borders which continue to drive demand.

University area

Remaining one of the most sought-after areas in Reading, both apartments and houses within a close proximity of the University area have been in strong demand from purchasers. The University isn’t the only draw for this area, which has homes that tend to offer a larger amount of outside space than in the immediate town centre. There is also a concentration of good schools and a number of parks.
